Is The Set Haunted?Sounds Like It

A Recent article. For you Ghost Hunters on SyFi the show investigated the dame place on the April 15 show..

"The Vampire Diaries is a scary show—vampires, werewolves, witches and frighteningly sexy stars—but the set itself is also a pretty terrifying place to work.

What happened to cause star Nina Dobrev to believe in ghosts?

The actress, who plays doppelgängers Elena and Katherine on the CW thriller, says the crew had more than one close encounter with paranormal phenomena while filming at the Gaither Plantation in Covington, Ga.

Once, Dobrev told the AP, a phantom piano player interrupted a shoot.

"The ADs started screaming, 'Stop! Whoever that is, stop the music. We're rolling!'" she said, adding that when the crew barged into the room with the piano, it was empty.

Another time, when Dobrev was alone in a bathroom with no one nearby, she said "the lights were just spontaneously coming on and off."...

The whole crew, said the actress, shared a "weird feeling" while filming at Gaither but "nobody could pinpoint" why....

"I don't think we've shot there since," Dobrev said."

Whitney Strieber On Aliens And Hybrids

Could there be alien-human hybrids walking among us who have very different powers of mind and body? On Coast To Coast AM, Whitley Strieber shared some of his experiences that suggest that this might actually be true. In his new novel, Hybrids, he explores the promise and danger of this possibility.

He referred to his latest book as another one of his "true fiction" efforts, which "contains elements that I think are factual but I don't have enough information to prove."

"We're going to see a leap in technology in the next 5 years, with methods to compress memory, so that machine's capacities will be denser than the human brain, he reported. In his new book, he considers these advances, along with "alien technology" to create super soldiers that are smarter than we are-- programmable biological robots.

Real alien hybrids may have been created by the 'Visitors' using genetic methods similar to what Earth scientists currently use, he suggested. A number of people wrote to Strieber expressing their belief that they are hybrids. Interestingly, he noted that UFO hacker Gary McKinnon said he saw lists of officers who were on off-planet 'space fleets.' Perhaps people are being altered genetically to endure long flights, Whitley conjectured. He also recounted some of 'Visitor' experiences that took place at his former cabin in a secluded area in upstate New York."

Stonehenge

This remains one of my favorite fascinations.I sis a necklace as a tribute,"Spring At Stonehenge.".Here are some of the known things about the site whicj id only one of many such sites in England and worldwide.

Stonehenge

1) Located on the Salisbury Plain in Southern England

2) One of about 900 megalithic circles throughout Britain

3) Consists of three concentric circles built during three different time periods

4) Built in stages from about 2800 BCE to about 1075 BCE

5) Used to observe the sun and the moon

6) Gave regularity to the builders calendar; helped in planting and used for religious ceremonies

7) The largest stones weigh 50 tons, and were transported from many miles away.

8) Viewed from the center, the sun rises over the heel stone at the summer solstice

http://burro.astr.cwru.edu/stu/pre20th_ancients.html

There are probably hundreds of myths and legends about Stonehenge. Various people have attributed the building of this great megalith to the Danes, Romans, Saxons, Greeks, Atlanteans, Egyptians, Phoenicians Celts, King Aurelius Ambrosious, Merlin, and even Aliens.

"
One of the most popular beliefs was that Stonehenge was built by the Druids. These high priests of the Celts, constructed it for sacrificial ceremonies. It was John Aubrey, who first linked Stonehenge to the Druids. Additionally, Dr. William Stukeley, another Stonehenge antiquary, also claimed the Druids were Stonehenge's builders. Stukeley studied Stonehenge a century later than Aubrey and became so involved in the study of the Druid religion that he himself became one. Through his work he was very instrumental in popularizing the theory that Stonehenge was built by Druids."

Ancient Astronomy

Whether you believe in Ancient Alien Theory or not, the information about the skill with which the ancients observed the sky is amazing. This is by no means a thorough covering of the subject.

There are many ancient astronomers from many cultures all around the world, many of whom have their name lost over the ages. For example, we do not know who or when the planets were recognized as being different from stars. In some sense, most ancient people were 'astronomers' since all lived under non-light-polluted dark skies and everyone wonders what is up there. The names of the Egyptian, Mayan, and Chaldean astronomers are all lost, even if we know of some of their results

The history of astronomy is a very long one and astronomy has been pursued by all cultures, so there is a very wide range of tools. Before the discovery of the telescope, the only observing devices that people could use was the human eye, perhaps aided by any of a variety of sighting devices. Thus, the Chinese used armillary spheres, Tycho Brahe (Danish late 1500's) used long sighting 'tubes', neolithic farmers made Stonehenge to point to midsummer sunrise, and Ptolemy noted planet positions with respect to stars. After the discovery of the telescope, there was a steady push to larger-and-larger telescopes.

Ancient Astronomy

A) In the beginning, there were 3 basic types of ancient observatories

1) Simple markers

2) Circles

(a) Stone, wood, holes, or lines
Stonehenge in England is of course best known but many exist world wide.

Before the invention of the telescope, modern mathematics, modern physics, and modern ways of science, ancient civilizations were still able to discover an amazing amount of information about astronomy. All the planets in the solar system except for Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto were known to ancients. Ancient Egyptians were able to figure out how long a year was based upon the movements of the sun and the flooding of the Nile River. Greeks were able to estimate the diameter of Earth to within 32 km (20 miles) long before Europeans "knew" the Earth was flat. This page contains this and much more information on ancient astronomy.

Like today, there were always those who were interested in just knowing about things for the interest in simply knowing. However, that didn't get ancient civilizations very far, so there had to be a reason for people to study astronomy.

The main one was to try to understand what was going on in order to try to predict what would happen. Often times, ancient astronomers were priests, who were kept alive only as long as they correctly predicted events. Astronomical bodies, such as the sun, moon, and planets, were often seen as gods and goddesses. Predicting planetary positions were a way of predicting the will of the gods, and could then foretell events such as whether or not there would be a good harvest.

Alien Abductions

From Wisconsin, Chad Lewis discusses some interesting experiences of credible witnesses:
"Lewis shared the astonishing case of a farmer in Eagle River, Wisconsin, who claimed to have interacted with beings from a saucer-shaped craft that landed on his property. The farmer described meeting a small Italian-looking man dressed in black spandex with whom he exchanged drinking water for a few alien space cakes. The farmer went to his deathbed maintaining his story was true, Lewis said.

Another alien encounter allegedly occurred in Bloomer, Wisconsin, where a woman under hypnosis recalled being abducted by extraterrestrials. The backyard of the woman's residence had burn marks on the ground, perhaps made by landing UFO, and implants were found in her body, ..."

Internet Leads To More Exercoisms?

Interesting article

Exorcism is the subject of a six-day conference being held this week at the Regina Apostolorum Pontifical University in Rome, which is under the Vatican's authority.

"The internet makes it much easier than in the past to find information about Satanism," said Carlo Climati, a member of the university who specialises in the dangers posed to young people by Satanism.

"In just a few minutes you can contact Satanist groups and research occultism. The conference is not about how to become an exorcist. It's to share information about exorcism, Satanism and sects. It's to give help to families and priests. There is a particular risk for young people who are in difficulties or who are emotionally fragile," said Mr Climati.

The object of seminars was to scrutinise the phenomenon of Satanism with "seriousness and scientific rigour", avoiding a "superficial or sensational approach", he said.
