"Mazlan Othman, a Malaysian astrophysicist, is set to be tasked with co-ordinating humanity’s response if and when extraterrestrials make contact.

Aliens who landed on earth and asked: “Take me to your leader” would be directed to Mrs Othman.
Mrs Othman is currently head of the UN’s little known Office for Outer Space Affairs (Unoosa).

In a recent talk to fellow scientists, she said: “The continued search for extraterrestrial communication, by several entities, sustains the hope that some day human kind will received signals from extraterrestrials.

“When we do, we should have in place a coordinated response that takes into account all the sensitivities related to the subject. The UN is a ready-made mechanism for such coordination.”

he plan to make Unoosa the co-ordinating body for dealing with alien encounters will be debated by UN scientific advisory committees and should eventually reach the body’s general assembly.

Opinion is divided about how future extraterrestrial visitors should be greeted. Under the Outer Space Treaty on 1967, which Unoosa oversees, UN members agreed to protect Earth against contamination by alien species by “sterilising” them.
Mrs Othman is understood to support a more tolerant approach.

But Professor Stephen Hawking has warned that alien interlopers should be treated with caution.

He said: “I imagine they might exist in massive ships, having used up all the resources from their home planet. The outcome for us would be much as when Christopher Columbus first landed in America, which didn’t turn out very well for the Native Americans.”

Did Their Pet Return As A Rock?

But Looby Loo, the beloved family pet his children missed so much, was still there.

Mr Brow, a programme controller at a local radio station, said his wife, Carron, first alerted him to the ghostly visitor in the garden at their home in Ilkley, Yorkshire.

‘She said, “I think you’d better look out of the window. It’s Looby Loo”. Initially I thought it was a cardboard cut-out, and they were winding me up,’ he said.

But close examination showed patterns in the moss covering the rock, which came from Ilkley Moor and has been in the garden for years, had suddenly formed
the image.

‘I just thought I was seeing things, but she’s there,’ said Mr Brow, 42. ‘It doesn’t just look like any dog, it looks like our dog.

'The bizarre thing is that spot is exactly where she used to sit.’
Mr Brow, who has four children, Harry, 13, Louis, ten, Charles, eight, and Lillia, four, said : ‘The kids are desperate for a dog and have been pestering me for ages.

‘Perhaps this is a sign we should get one.’"

Satan In The Bathroom?

This is not a Jesus ON A Bagel type unexpected event however it would not be something you would want to have at your house..

A family abandoned their bathroom fearing it had been possessed by the devil after an image of Satan appeared overnight - in a tile.

Laszlo Csrefko spent a fortune renovating the room at the family home in Bekasmegyer, Budapest, with a new bath, shower and tiles.

But after taking her first shower, horrified wife Andrea, 47, fled from the bathroom when she spotted the horned head of the devil in one of the tiles.

"I was naked coming out of the shower and I could suddenly see his eyes staring into me. I just screamed and ran," she said.

Husband Laszlo, 52, explained: "We can't clean it off and it wasn't there when we put the tiles up. It just appeared overnight and nothing can move it.

"The room is always ice cold no matter how high we turn the heating up and we've just stopped using it because it's too spooky.

"We wash in the sink downstairs now," he added.

Now the couple are planning to call in an exorcist to cleanse their bathroom of evil spirits.

"We need some help from God or from the spirit world or we're going to seal up the room forever," said Laszlo.

So Where Is He?

Several people in New Jersey claimed they saw a person falling from the sky with no parachute, but an extensive police search has turned up no evidence, NBC Philadelphia reported.

Witness Kelly Hale and two of her co-workers at Shore Veterinarians in Egg Harbor Township said they watched from their office windows as a human fell head-first from the sky on Tuesday.

But there were no reports of missing skydivers.

The police are still investigating.One of the many who called in to report it said

Weird Lobster Has A Friend

There is an old saying "Someone is out there for you.."Maybe that applies to Lobsters also.

"​A million-to-one freak lobster with two cutting claws caught in British waters has found a friend in another mutant crustacean -- with two crushing claws.

Lobsters usually have one cutting claw and one crushing claw - which are each used to catch food such as crabs.

They grab their prey with the sharp cutting claw while the powerful crusher claw is used to break open the shell.

But a lobster - nicknamed Popeye - with two crushing claws has now been found by fisherman Steven Tregeer off St Just in Cornwall.

The discovery comes just weeks after a lobster dubbed 'Edward Scissorhands' with two cutting claws was found off the coast of nearbThe pair of freak crustaceans are now being cared for at Newquay's Blue Reef Aquarium.

Blue Reef's David Waines said: ''On his own Edward was an extremely unusual find.

''So for Popeye to have been caught within the space of just a few weeks is nothing short of extraordinary.

''We now have a pair of lobsters with the correct number of cutting and crushing claws - the only problem is they're the wrong way round.''

Lobsters are among the planet's oldest inhabitants with fossil remains found dating back more than 100 million years."

Makes you wonder if our pollution is reaching the oldest creatures..

A Haunted Ripley Museum

The last time I read about Ripley Museums they were dealing with a shortage of Shrunken Heads.When you think of all the things to be found there it seems likely that some hauntings may happen,This appeared in AOL News.(A few highlights.Click the link at the end for the full account.Info about a TAPS tour also.)

In fact, The Atlantic Paranormal Society, or TAPS -- the real-life ghost busters of the Syfy Network's popular "Ghost Hunters International" series – have been to Castle Warden and other eerie spots around St. Augustine, searching for signs of a real haunting.

Castle Warden is a historic mansion, built in 1887 by millionaire William Warden. The building, which resembles a medieval fortress, became a hotel in the 1940s, where Robert Ripley was a frequent visitor.

The building was acquired by Ripley's heirs after his death in 1949, and in December 1950, it opened as the original Ripley's Believe It or Not museum, housing many artifacts from Ripley's personal collection of amazing oddities and curiosities from around the world.

There's everything from an Abraham Lincoln life mask to a vampire slaying kit to the erector set Ferris wheel that's two stories high that took a guy 17 years to make -- it's pure insanity at every turn."
On the truly freaky level, Ingwersen adds that visitors to Castle Warden often report hearing mysterious voices or catching glimpses of apparitions in the labyrinthine, four-story, 25-room building. He said that some claim to smell smoke from a fire in the 1940s that killed two women who were in the building when it was a hotel.

Now we get into the paranormal, where sensitives and psychics consistently come into these rooms and they keep getting these same premonitions and feelings that something terrible happened in that building. So that's one of the reasons why we think it's haunted."

Those are among many cases of ghostly occurrences that have been reported at Castle Warden, according to Ingwersen.
"We've had various people that have called the police because right up there on the third floor, they'll see a woman at a window, screaming. That window's been boarded up since 1950, but they see her screaming..."

Are Abductees Being Trained?

A recent discussion on Coast To Coast AM left me with some shivers..
"Hypnotherapist and abduction researcher Yvonne Smith discussed her research on UFO abductions on Thursday night. Several years ago, 11 people were simultaneously abducted on Coronado Island, and this case is going to be featured in her forthcoming book, she said. Right now, she's working on a three-witness case with Dr. Roger Leir and Jaime Maussan, hypnotically regressing two of the witnesses who were children when the incident occurred. An implant was removed from one of the witnesses, and Dr. Leir believes we may have enough data to determine the origin of the ETs, she revealed.

The ET's agenda appears to revolve around the hybridization program, said Smith, as many of the abductees have sperm and ova removed. Further, she reported that some female abductees feel their own children may have been genetically altered. Abductees are often told that they're being trained for a particular job, "and when the time comes they'll know exactly what they're supposed to do," she noted, adding that this might relate to certain dreams abductees have had in which they are guiding large numbers of people somewhere."

Mysterious Moving Rocks

A group of young scientists is taking a crack at solving the puzzle of this odd desert area known as Racetrack Playa.

Most of the wandering stones are about the size of a one-liter soda bottle and far heavier, according to Brian Jackson, a NASA scientist who has been studying the area for more than four years.

"You don't expect 20-pound (9-kilogram) rocks to go sliding across the ground very easily, but they seem to do that on occasion," Jackson said.

Jackson said crackpot theories abound to explain the stones' travels across the playa (a term for a dried-out lake bed), which is about 3 miles (4.5 kilometers) long, almost a mile and a half (2 km) across, and preternaturally flat.

"I've definitely heard aliens, magnetic fields, frat boys from UNLV" — the University of Nevada, Las Vegas — "but nothing really plausible," Jackson said. "There's no way it could really be a hoax, because if someone were pushing them you'd see footprints."

This Ghost Knows A Nurse...

Another real estate story.This nurse was not even worn earrings like those pictured.

"Sometimes, a certain piece of haunted real estate haunts you and that influences you to buy it.

That's how it worked for Greg Lobdell and Jon Carlson when they decided to purchase the Bowers Harbor Inn in Traverse City, Mich. The building is said to be haunted by a ghost named "Genevieve," who, legend has it, hanged herself in an elevator shaft after catching her husband having an affair with a nurse.

"We grew up near there back in the 1970s, and it was generally accepted that there was a ghost there," Lobdell said. "As kids, we'd go check out the shaft.

The duo have rebranded the business Mission Table, but have kept the ghost. The legend of Genevieve is proudly displayed at the restaurant, and they welcome paranormal teams to investigate.

"Some of the restaurant employees are intimidated about working late and we respect that," Lobdell said. "Every server has a story. One waiter told me about a woman who kept feeling she was being pushed when no one was behind her -- and, it turns out, she was a nurse!"
